Xi'an Gaoling Domestic Waste Incineration Power Plant follows the iconic honeycomb elements of Kangheng, combined with the secondary skin of the rippling metal grille on the Wei River, creating a smart, beautiful, clean and modern exterior image design. The main building facade cleverly uses 13 high and low honeycombs to echo the history of the thirteen dynasties in Xi’an. The arrangement of the honeycombs is based on the importance of the dynasties and the length of time; combined with the plane function and the facade effect, the specific size and position. At the same time, the honeycomb symbolizes the high productivity of the factory, and uses bees to praise the wisdom and diligence of the people in Xi'an; the Kangheng factory uses urban solid waste to benefit the city, the environment, and future generations. In addition, the main facade of the building takes the ripples of the Wei River as the intention, using a parametrically designed metal grid to form the secondary skin, with four modules of the same length and different widths. Thirteen honeycombs are connected in series, gathered around them, descending successively, forming slight ups and downs, the effect is like the ripples formed by thirteen "neses" (chao) in the long river of history; strengthening the design of "13 nests (chao)" Concept, contrast and strengthen the honeycomb element, making the design more vivid.
