A Closer Look at an AIA LD Project | Mohammed VI International University Hospital and Medical School in Rabat

Last November, we celebrated the official inauguration of the Mohammed VI International University Hospital and Medical School in Rabat. Earlier this year, the project achieved HQE international certification. Today, we take a closer look at this healthcare and education complex designed by AIA Life Designers, and discover more about Rabat’s new healthcare landmark.
As one of AIA Life Designers’ major healthcare projects in Morocco, the complex brings together a state-of-the-art hospital with a university center for medical education. Designed to welcome 280,000 patients annually, it marks a major milestone in the development of Rabat’s Health District.

▪️Fast-track delivery: 242,000 m² completed in just 28 months, from design studies through construction.
Today, the complex has become a major urban landmark in Rabat. Opening itself toward the city, it establishes a strong visual connection with its surroundings. Its distinctive architectural presence provides a recognizable reference point within the urban landscape while contributing to Rabat’s architectural identity.
In January 2026, the project received HQE certification at the 'Exceptional' level for its design and construction, recognizing its architectural, functional, and environmental excellence.
From its inauguration to its green building certification, this landmark integrating healthcare, education and public value continues to demonstrate its lasting vision for the future.
