AlA LD Project-King of Morocco lnaugurates the Mohammed Vl International University Hospital and Medical School in Rabat

On November 4, 2025, His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, presided over the inauguration ceremony of the Mohammed VI International University Hospital and Medical School in Rabat. As the core design team of the project, AIA Life Designers was honored to be invited to witness this milestone moment alongside the royal family, marking the official launch of the landmark medical facility.
Perfect Integration of Healthcare and Education
This project, integrating both a hospital and a university, marks a significant milestone in the development of the Rabat Health District. Situated along the Adrahim Bouaabid Avenue, it fully embodies the synergy between healthcare excellence and medical education. The project includes：
-A modern hospital with 550 beds, including 120 intensive care units
-20 high-standard operating rooms
-A medical school capable of accommodating 5,000 students
The university hospital is expected to serve 280,000 patients annually, further strengthening its pivotal role in the region's healthcare and academic landscape.
4 Design Concepts
-An iconic tower: By rising vertically, the tower optimizes land use, freeing up space for a spacious forecourt and future expansion areas. It offers classrooms unobstructed views of the hippodrome, the city, and the sea. More than just a structure, the tower embodies the synergy between the hospital and the university, standing as a beacon of integrated healthcare education.
-Clearly defined specialty hubs: The hospital is organized into distinct competency blocks, each marked by dedicated suspended gardens, providing a pleasant and soothing environment for patients and students.
-Strong landscape integration: Greenery is omnipresent, extending across the entrance forecourt, terraced gardens, and the suspended gardens of the tower, ensuring comfort and well-being for all users.
-A unifying base: This foundational element permeates the entire project, fostering interactions between the hospital and university communities.Its striking silhouette and seamless integration with the landscape make it a model of architectural innovation dedicated to healthcare and education.
In recent years, AIA Life Designers has accumulated extensive practical experience in Morocco's construction sector, with multiple projects nearing completion. For instance, the AL BARID Stadium in Rabat, designed in 2023 to accommodate 18,500 spectators, proudly hosted its first football match last weekend — a truly exciting milestone. Other notable projects include the first bioclimatic garden-tower hospital — the Ibn Sina Hospital in Rabat, as well as two integrated healthcare-education campuses: the Dakhla Mohammed VI University Hospital Complex and the International University of Rabat.
The Shanghai team has been deeply involved in each of the aforementioned projects, working closely with both the France-based team and the on-site Morocco team to overcome challenges such as time differences and cultural diversity. Together, we have successfully integrated global vision with local needs.

功能：一共有四大组团，其中：
1）大学院区：医学院，健康科学工程学院，护理与保健职业学院，医学模拟中心，会议中心（600座），体育中心；2）教工宿舍区；3）医院：穆罕默德六世大学附属医院（289床）、患者及家属公寓；4）研究创新中心。
